Looking for some input. I put up a question on another post but got not response. Essentially I am wondering whether you can domesticate a feral hog? I realize feral is an animal that was once domesticated but is now wild. I have had an orphan sow for about two weeks. You can hold her, she comes…

Maybe she will"just playfully attack" you or your kids when you least expect it. We laughed when it happened to the neighbor because he got away. But had he been knocked down it would've been bad.been there. good luck!!

Anyone else seeing these nest? We see them fairly often on my buddy's property near jeanerette. They are always made neat and clean with no mud in them, despite all the mud around them. I find it interesting to think that a wild hog would make a nest like this and keep it so clean. I will have to…

We continue to have fun during the summer months knocking out hogs while we wait for hunting season to roll around. 10 years ago, we hardly had any hogs now they are everywhere. Only good thing is we can hunt them year-round. We have taken 16 this summer so far by trapping and hunting.

Great job! I’ve shot a few too this summer. I have a spot in my hayfield where I dump all the leftover oil from frying fish, chicken, fries or whatever. They stay rooting in that oil soaked dirt/mud, no corn needed. Keep smoking them swine.

Anyone on here ever shoot hogs with T shot? I have some 12 ga 3.5 in T shot. First squirrel hunt of the year today. Came across some hogs and got within 40 yards. Not knowing how effective it would be I wanted to get closer before attempting the shot but they spooked. These were small to…

This was my first hunt to kill something with my bow. I actually shot 3 and found 2. I got it all on video to, but can't post it for some reason. And no not the rage, they don't have my grain. And if you video your hunts I highly recommend a Joby Gorillapod. They do a fine job.
awesome, buddy, nice job...that is gonna taste awesome, what time's dinner? email me the video.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Hogzilla is being made into a horror movie. But the sequel may be even bigger: Meet Monster Pig. An 11-year-old Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail.…

Thanks to Hurricane Zeta, we did more work at the camp than hunting the week leading up to Thanksgiving. But, we managed to get my 10 and 12 year old nephews out in some stands where they each got to shoot their first hogs. As 2020 would have it, we didn't have any stands back up in time for…

Are there any public lands, not WMAs, that you can go and bow hunt pigs?
here we go, i hunted Wma's for many years, killed more hogs on wma's than any where else. so to answer your question if you don't want wma's but want public then there is only federal land, like kitchasie national forest land, way less piggies.

I shot this big boar on Friday night a half hour after we got to the camp. When walking to the stand, I noticed my motion sensor light was on in the field. He was in there eating so no way to get to the stand. I snuck as close as I could. He was down on the first shot, but kicking. Not wanting to…

My cousin is a sugar cane farmer in Iberia Parish. Hogs are a big problem for cane farmers destroying crops and fields and must be dealt with. When he knows there are hogs on a particular cane field he has the cane cutting combine work the perimeter of the field cutting until there is a small…

While hoping to take a nice fat doe with my 45-90 in Amite County, MS yesterday, I was fortunate to have a 70lb boar come out of the woods approximately 75 yards from my ladder stand. As I raised my Browning B-78, the boar turned away, heading downhill. The old Texas heart shot was in order and…

Tom Davis & grandson, Dason, came up from Ponchatoula to work on Jackson Hunting Club in Amite County, and we did a little prep work on Liberty Trace Ranch. While there we noticed quite some hog activity by one of the stands and put out some 'yellow call'. Dason sat for a few hours but…

Family bought a camp in happy town. Never hunted Indian bayou as I’ve always been in a private lease. Does Indian bayou have a lot of hogs? I’ve never really heard a lot of reports out of Indian bayou. Thanks
I've never seen any hog sign in there or heard any reports about any being killed but if you go straight across the river into Sherburne they're everywhere!

I'll leave this here, hopefully someone will read this and have enough impact to change regulations on WMA's for hog hunting. Well the rules are that if hog hunting on a WMA, you must hunt with a seasonal firearm, which outside of deer season is either a shotgun with BB shot or a .22LR. Well…

Spotted three hogs and went for the double-hit shot. After cleaning the pigs, it shows that both where hit with the initial shot and broke the leg of the second boar which explains why it walked slowly which gave me an opportunity to take a second shot.

Another hog bites the dust! Saw several black hogs while bowhunting up in MS two weeks ago and went back last week with my 45-90. Right at sundown, this nice 150# boar showed up feeding away from me. Texas heart shot with Rem 405gr JSP travelled the length of him, coming out his cheek. Dropped…
